COMPOSITION: Each tablet contain 500mg Paracetamol B.P

ACTIONS: Paracetamol is a clinically proven analgesic and antipyretic. It is postulated that it produces analgesia by elevation of the pain threshold and antipyresis by action on the hypothalamus heat-regulating Centre. Paracetamol also has an anti-flamatory effect which is described as weak in comparison to that of acetylsalicylic acid.

GEMINI PARACETAMOL: is rapidly and completely absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract, and exerts its effect within 15-30 minutes. The effect which last 3-4 hours can be compared to that of acetylsalicylic acid.

INDICATIONS: Gemini Paracetamol is very effective against pains, such as headache, toothache and backache.it also combats pain of fever, cold, body pains and joints. It is a suitable alternative for aspirin in patients sensitive to aspirin in whom aspirin id contra-indicated (e .g those with peptic ulcer) or in patients in whom the prolongation of pro-thrombin time caused by aspirin could be a disadvantage.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

ADULTS : Above 12 years ,1-2 tablets
CHILDREN: 6-12 years ½ -1 tablet

This dose can be repeated 3-4 times within 4 hours if necessary.(maximum:4g daily for adults and 0.5-2g for children).the tablets should be taken with large amount of water.

NOTE: if symptoms persist for more than two days or treatment please consult a physician.

PRECAUTIONS: Gemini Paracetamol should be given with care to patient with impaired kidney or liver functions.

It should not be administrated chronically over a long period of time.
ADVERSERE REACTIONS: Gemini Paracetamol is generally well tolerated when taken in recommend doses .Side effect such as allergic reactions and gastrointestinal disturbances do occur only in rare cases .if they occur, the drug should be stopped immediately.
